Under various circumstances, the SBI user might just want to change his registered mobile number in order to obtain information regarding transactions notifications, OTP notifications and other details on his new number.

This could be done either by visiting your nearest ATM machine center or by following a few steps online.

How to Change mobile number in SBI by ATM

Following are the steps you need to follow in order to change your mobile number via SBI ATM machine-:

  1. Visit SBI ATM- Firstly, you need to visit to your nearest SBI ATM machine center.
  2. Swipe your Card- In order to get access to your SBI account, you must first swipe your Debit Card.
  3. Go to the Registration Option- You’ll come across various options on the screen. Among them, you need to click on the “Registration” option.
  4. Enter your Pin- Enter your SBI ATM Pin (4 digits) and confirm it.
  5. Go to Mobile Number Registration- Click on the “Mobile Number Registration” option.
  6. Go to Change Mobile Number- You’ll see two options on the screen. One of these is “Change Mobile Number”. Click on it.
  7. Enter Old Mobile Number- Enter your previous mobile number in the space provided and click on “Correct” option.
  8. Enter New Mobile Number- Enter your New mobile number in the space provided and click on “Correct” option.
  9. Message Received- Within a few seconds, you’ll receive a SMS containing OTP and Reference number on both your previous and new mobile numbers.
  10. Send OTP and Reference Number- Send OTP and Reference number from both your old and new phone numbers on the number shown to you in the SMS in the following format.

Say if the number on which you need to send OTP and reference number is 567676, then the format shall be- Activate< OTP value>< Reference Number>

Within a few minutes after sending your SMS, your new mobile number will get registered with your SBI account through the use of SBI ATM and you will be informed about this with the help of a SMS alert.

How to Change mobile number in SBI Online

If visiting an SBI center is not an option for you, then you can change your mobile number online by following a few steps mentioned below.

Following are the steps you need to follow in order to change your mobile number via SBI Online-:

  1. Open SBI- Open your online SBI net banking account by entering the Username and Password.
  2. Entre into the Profile section- Click on “My account &Profile” section in header menu. Now, in the drop down menu click on “Profile”.
  3. Go to Personal Details/Mobile- In the Profile section, look for Personal Details/Mobile option and click on it.
  4. Click on Profile password-Enter your “Profile Password” to seek permission to change mobile number.
  5. Submit- Click on “Submit” option
  6. Change Mobile Number-A new page will open showing details pertaining to your account. Here you will find options to change your mobile number. Click on “Change Mobile Number through domestic only (OTP)”.
  7. Submit- Click on “Submit” option.
  8. Enter new Mobile number- Enter your new mobile number that you want to link with your SBI Account and then re-enter it again.
  9. Submit- Click on “Submit” option.
  10. Select the Mode- A new page will be opened displaying various options to change your mobile numbers. Click on option “By OTP on both the Mobile Number”. Click on Proceed.
  11. Proceed on the Account Details shown- A new page confirming your account number and account type will be shown. You need to click on the “Proceed” option.
  12. Proceed on the ATM card details- A new page confirming on the details of the card holder will be shown. You need to click on the “Proceed” option.
  13. Enter Card details- Next, you need to enter all the relevant information pertaining to your card. Click on “Proceed”
  14. Complete the guidelines for registration- Within a few seconds, you’ll receive a SMS containing OTP and Reference number on both your previous and new mobile numbers.
  15. Send OTP and Reference Number- Send OTP and Reference number from both your old and new phone numbers on the number shown to you in the SMS in the following format.
